Cinematic. It's the word I kept coming back to as I tried to describe this band, and this web blurb inspired them to name the album (bow). The Will Hoffman produced record is finished and sounds fantastic, and we were supposed to have already released it, but because of some encouraging label interest it has been delayed for the time being.

The first single, "Portrait of a Summer Thief" will be featured on the soundtrack for a little indie flick coming out this summer called SPIDER MAN 3Cinematic. Lions recently recorded a six-song demo for a yet-to-named label in a "first rights" deal. We'll let you know when we do. They have been touring like the maniacs they are and getting equally maniacal reviews of their sonic bombardment.

If the Austin Music Awards had a "Most Stunning Sound" category, Lions would be undisputed reigning champions. Turn it up. Louder, you pussy.

The Drawing Board

Austin via Los Angeles via Austin...it looks like the Drawing Board have finally settled down for a bit, the bastard sons of Jellyfish and Elvis Costello have delivered a dizzying, hook laden, harmony drenched debut which only hints at the firepower they bring to bear in the live show. This complicated record dangles indie rock over the lounge precipice and chuckles while it squirms.

Kissinger
